Il cocomero

Il cocomero, o anguria, come il melone, è in realtà un
ortaggio e appartiene alla stessa famiglia dei cetrioli e delle zucchine; è indicata nelle diete ipocaloriche perché ha un buon potere saziante ma contiene poche calorie (16 kcal/100 g) e pochi zuccheri (3,7%): il sapore dolce è dovuto alla presenza di sostanze aromatiche.
L'anguria è molto dissetante grazie al contenuto elevato di acqua (95,3%) ed è ideale come spuntino spezza-fame e reidratante nelle giornate più calde.
L'anguria contiene anche potassio (280 mg/100 g), vit. A (37 mcg/100 g) e vit. C (8 mg/100 g); inoltre contiene licopene, una sostanza antiossidante e antitumorale. 
Tra le diverse varietà di anguria la Sugar Baby (caratterizzata da buccia scura e lucida, con poche striature) è quella dal sapore più dolce mentre la Crimson Sweet (caratterizzata da buccia con striature biancastre e da grandi dimensioni) è quella più dissetante.

Sorbetto di cocomero (per 4 porzioni)
Frullare 600 g c. di cocomero con 200 g di zucchero versare il frullato in una vaschetta metallica; riporre la vaschetta nel surgelatore e mescolare il frullato ogni mezz'ora per almeno 3 ore. Mescolare un'ultima volta prima di servire.
